In this talk I describe how understanding black holes better could help to understand how to unify the forces of nature. Black holes are an ideal laboratory to probe the unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity. I discuss how black holes can be used to probe the strength of gravity and the energy scale at which the different forces of nature unify.
